FRESH Endeavors: Rhubarb
Kile Martz presents about Rhubarb, a new retail space and community kitchen in downtown Viroqua. Rhubarb features a baking and canning kitchen that will be geared towards people starting a value added food business. The retail space will feature food, gifts, and artisan works from the Driftless Region including those produced in the kitchen. Rhubarb is right next to Driftless Fair Traders on the first floor of the Hotel Fortney.

At the February 6 screening of FRESH, Susan Noble and Jessica Luhning speak about the Buy Local Buy Wisconsin grant recently awarded to VEDA to develop a producer-buyer cooperative to facilitate the purchase of local food by institutions such as WTC, Vernon Memorial Hospital, Gunderson Lutheran, and others.
Raw Milk Rally in Wisconsin Max Kane's Court Date
Allowing raw milk to be bought and sold in the State of Wisconsin has become a state-wide issue. There are bills making their way through the Assembly and State Senate, and court cases being played out locally. Max Kane's Raw Milk court date and rally event will be in Viroqua Wisconsin on December 21, 2009. Some major names in raw milk advocacy are reported to be showing up to present at the rally.
